Conwy Folk Club
Aug 6 @ 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm

banner3Conwy Folk Club began in 1996 in a “floating bar restaurant” on board a ship known as the “Frigate Conwy” and was located in the “Orlop Bar”, that being the lowest of her decks. The club was started with borrowed P.A. equipment and a great deal of faith and enthusiasm.

Now on terra firma at the Royal British Legion Club in Rose Hill Street, their aim remains unchanged – to provide a relaxed venue where the experienced and the beginner alike can feel comfortable and at home, and come and perform and enjoy live music.

Entry is free on a singers night and a nominal charge on guest nights.

THE FOLK CLUB has been running for two years at The Cross Keys Llanfynydd and is attracting great support from all over.

Bromborough Folk Club
Aug 8 @ 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm

portsunlightBromborough Folk Club is one of the longest established folk clubs in Merseyside, and possibly in the UK. We have operated from various pubs over 30+ years and have an active and extremely popular club.

Performers are always welcome, even on guest nights. We thrive because we appreciate and showcase a wide range of styles and talents, and because our Wirral and Liverpool networks and links are alive and kicking.

Many have supported John Coleman in running the club over the last 30 + years. The current regular co-hosts / residents also include Maurice Purcell, Pam Winship, Steve Barker, Jan Hampson, Phil Chisnall, & John Thackray. Other hosts are invited occasionally to bring a fresh approach. Our resident Shanty Crew, the Port Sunlight Sea Dogs enjoy a popular high profile in Merseyside. Other residents have successful bands themselves, and are well supported at their own events.

Folk and Acoustic Singers’ Night
Aug 9 @ 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm

The weekly Ruthin AllStyles Folk & Acoustic Singers Night has become a firm favourite in the music lovers’ calendar, attracting performers and audience members from all over the Vale of Clwyd and beyond.

Most Thursdays are Singers’ Nights. Please arrive before 8.20pm to register for a floor spot.

With dozens of musicians, some visiting occasionally and some fairly regularly, every week is different. On a typical week there can be between eight and fifteen performers doing two or three numbers each, providing a broad mix from Folk to Blues to R&B, from Country to Celtic to Charts.

20161027-5044The most we’ve had in one evening was twenty performers,  pretty much the maximum, so turn up early to guarantee getting a floor spot.

Visitors are very welcome.  Hardly a week goes by without us seeing a new face or two! So do come along to join us for a great evening’s entertainment. And of course there is always a bottle of wine to be won in our raffle!

Please note, floor spots are limited in number on concert nights, (see calendar) which begin with a round of spots by a selection of Ruthin AllStyles Regulars.

Entrance is just £1.50 (including raffle ticket).

Doors 7.30pm, music starts at 8.00pm.
