Acoustic Evenings in North Wales
Well I’ve started the (long overdue) task of rebuilding the What’s On? calendar on the website following a server crash that took down much of the content.
I’ve started with the “Open Mic” section. This includes Folk and Acoustic Clubs – and I’ve started with the Vale of Clwyd and radiated outwards.
There is a lot more to do yet. But I couldn’t help noticing how well blessed music lovers are in this part of the world. When Jayne and I travel to other parts of the country, we are often hard pressed to find a live folk and acoustic music venue at which to twang a string.
By contrast, anyone staying in North Wales this week who brought a guitar with them could have effectively gone “on tour” for the week:
Starting with Denbigh Folk Club on Sunday, Conwy Folk Club on Monday, Llanfynydd on Tuesday, back to Denbigh on Wednesday for The Lighted Stage at the Mason’s Arms, to the Cross Keys in Ruthin for the AllStyles Music Club, over to Rhyl on Friday where you’ve got a choice of the Folk Club or the Folk and Acoustic Club, and ending the tour in Rhuddlan with the Open Mic Night at the King’s Head.
Keep and eye on our What’s On Page as we expand it to cover the rest of North Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside. In fact, if you attend a folk/acoustic club do please let me know the details (in the comments box below) and I will include it in the listing.
The guide will also have its theatre listings restored over the next week or so, so you’ll never be short of somewhere to go for entertainment in this wonderful part of the world.
