Conwy Folk Club began in 1996 in a “floating bar restaurant” on board a ship known as the “Frigate Conwy” and was located in the “Orlop Bar”, that being the lowest of her decks. The club was started with borrowed P.A. equipment and a great deal of faith and enthusiasm.

The weekly Ruthin AllStyles Folk & Acoustic Singers Night has become a firm favourite in the music lovers’ calendar, attracting performers and audience members from all North Wales, Cheshire and beyond.
Sadly, the damn Covid-19 virus has forced us to suspend our meeting for the time being. So, instead…
We are going to hold a
Virtual online Singers’ Night
As you may have heard, we have reluctantly decided to suspend our weekly meetings in The Feathers for the time being.
Meanwhile, we are going to meet up on Facebook instead, to share and enjoy each other’s music online.
This is how it will work...
Use your mobile phone to film yourself singing, and upload it to the Ruthin AllStyles group page (or to your own profile and then share it to the group).
You could do just one, or as many as you like but upload each separately. You can post them any time before Thursday evening as they will be held “awaiting moderation”.
Then, from 8.00pm onwards on Thursday, we will stream them one after the other so we can all enjoy a music night from the ̶i̶s̶o̶l̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶ comfort of our own homes.
We will also keep a conversation thread open so we can enjoy a bit a banter …and maybe a joke or two 😉
See you Thursday at eight 🎸🎼🎤.
Click here to join us. The music starts at 8.00pm.
Rhyl Folk and Acoustic Club meet every Friday at 7.30 pm in the Royal British Legion Club Limited. Abergele Road, Llanddulas, LL22 8EN, which boasts comfortable seating, a stage with a PA system, a licensed bar and a large safe car park.
All styles of music are catered for from Folk to Blues to Country, and all abilities too! On our regular singer’s nights, we welcome visitors whether as performers or just to relax and enjoy the music.
Admission is just £2.00 and that includes a free ticket for the bottle raffle! Certain Guest Nights may cost a little more. Please check the calendar on the Rhyl Folk and Acoustic Club website for full details.
Club meets 8:00pm every Friday. Most Fridays are singers‘ nights, with occasional Guest-Artistes.
Genre: Traditional Folk Music
Please note that although this listing appears under the “Open Mic” section, we have been asked by the club secretary to remove the words “open mic” from the heading as they “are concerned that ‘open mic’ could be an open invitation to all comers when we really want to encourage folk music.”
